Pretty in Pink

Love is in the air and pink is on the walls.

This is it! The season is just about to change from the dull and bleak winter and spring awaits, somewhere, until it get’s here we suggest you think pink. Just a touch can do so much for your mood!

Now for my guys that are reading this and thinking not me, just think about how great your pink Hermes tie or pocket square livened up your favorite suit. You looked great right and got lots of compliments.

Well we are suggesting you might take this a step further and bring that color into your home.

Pink is not just for little girls. Pink is a statement. The color pink is typically associated with love and romance and here is the psychology of that color. A light shade of red named after a flower, pink can evoke many emotions from romance and femininity and be very calming when paired with light colors. It can also take on a new sense of direction with a completely different emotion when paired with dark colors such as black or red tends to be more seductive when paired together. Pink can also be associated with extravagance.

We are not suggesting you go full on Pepto Bismol, but use this color to enhance and make statements that bring these beautiful emotions into place.

Here are some ways to bring it all together.

Introduce pink as an accessory. It can be as simple as a beautiful pillow or flower arrangement without a big investment to see how it works for you. We love using rose quartz pieces, they are architectural and soothing. Ami Austin Interior Design LLC is not the only designer in love with this color, look at what design icon Suzanne Kasler is using in her introductions and just about everyone else on the decorating planet. All of Suzanne’s collection for Hickory Chair and the entire Rock House Farm family of brands is available through Ami Austin Interior Design LLC.

Introduce pink through your art. There are so many shades of pink and it does not have to be pastel. Pink looks great with greys and chocolate.

My design friend Shayla Copas is unveiling her new pink collection with Chelsea House this Spring at High Point and it will be available through Ami Austin Interior Design LLC.

Chelsea House Sneak Peek

The new Pink Collection by Shayla Copas

We were invited to the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival to design a space for a very special brunch for our design friends and partners at ADAC in Atlanta. Using pink to accentuate this space with black and white this is what we came up with. Notice the bold pink rug and mixing pink color variations in the flowers  how it changes the dynamic of the space completely.

This month at Ami Austin Interior Design, we are going bold with pink! Take a look at this wall of our studio, paired with gold and bold art we are making a statement. The gorgeous Paper by Phillip Jeffries provides the background for our beautiful art collaboration with one of our favorite gal pals and local artists, Judy Vandegrift. Judy and I collaborated on a very special collection that will be available through Ami Austin Interior Design.
